The filings are required for encrypted devices sold in several Eastern European countries, including Russian Federation. It's suggested that Apple may drop the ceramic models this year, explaining why only six models are listed with the EEC. Plus, Apple could keep the Series 3 GPS-only models as its entry-level watch.

Apple usually launches new Apple Watch models in September. The past two years it has also launched new Apple Watch models at its annual event.

The model numbers were discovered by French Apple site Consomac, the source of similar reports in the past, which looked at recent Apple documentation filed with the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The current Apple Watch Series 3 includes two aluminum GPS-only models and six LTE models, two made in aluminum, two in steel and two in ceramic bodies.

Apple will reportedly maintain the two watch sizes, 38mm and 42mm, but will increase the screen size by about 15% - with diagonals of 1.57” and 1.78” (up from 1.5” and 1.65”), respectively.

A regulatory filing from the Eurasian Economic Commission names six new model numbers. Well, one thing we probably know for sure is that it will be packing watchOS 5, which Apple introduced at WWDC earlier this year.
