Though that is all the information DICE gave on Firestorm, it appears that, like other battle royale modes, the map will continually shrink - though in BF5, it will likely be done as a ring of fire closes in on the remaining sections of the map.

Today DICE reveals more details about Firestorm, Battlefield V's new battle royale mode.

Elsewhere in the six-and-a-half-minute video are discussions on War Stories, the eight total multiplayer modes, changes to game mechanics and overall refinements that have been made in Battlefield V compared to its predecessors. The voiceover adds that the Firestorm arena is a "sandbox filled with destructible buildings, weaponry and vehicles". Taking players through various theaters of war throughout WWII, War Stories are smaller slices of singleplayer missions that will consist of four main chapters (three not including the prologue) as well as a post-launch chapter. There will even be combat vaulting; given how long PUBG players waited for vaulting, many will be glad that Battlefield V is including amateur acrobatics from the jump. It was indicated that EA DICE has tuned its DXR performance for Nvidia GPUs only, thus far. It will take place on what DICE calls the largest map in Battlefield history.

The mode is called Firestorm and already sounds significantly different to Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Battlefield V will release on November 20 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The whole video is worth a watch though as a it also covers the games as a service side of Battlefield V, with Tides Of War promising major new (and free) content updates throughout the months to come.
