Neymar admits he suffered because of Brazil's World Cup disappointment in Russian Federation but feels a return to action has helped him and the team move on.

Neymar criticised referee Jair Marrufo after receiving what he felt was an "unnecessary" booking for simulation during his side's 5-0 win over El Salvador.

"We think we value it in a positive way".

Earlier this summer, the United States president responded to a Brazilian reporter in the White House insisting the country was the "best in the world" by saying the squad "had a little problem" at the World Cup in Russian Federation, where they were eliminated by Belgium in the last eight.

Brazil forward Gabriel Richarlison (9) celebrates with Brazil forward Neymar (10) after scoring a goal against El Salvador in the first half during an worldwide friendly soccer match at FedEx Field.

"He's producing solid performances in the Premier League and is clearly a good player, with great potential that could be really important for Brazil soon".

"So we leave here with our heads held high" Neymar said.

Richarlison, who linked up well with Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, added: "I'm very happy for both goals".

In an interview with AS, the 21-year-old gave an insight into his humble upbringing in Brazil, and said: "I had to live in my uncle's house because it was closer to where I trained and I didn't have money for the bus. I have to work hard at my club to come back more often".

"I am grateful to all the clubs I have spent time at, all helped me hope I can be in the Copa America and now is time to follow (that) up in my club so I can be wearing the Brazil shirt again".
