Learning now and confirmed that the son in law of Country Music Hall of Fame member Alan Jackson has died.28 year old Ben Selecman died yesterday after falling at a boat dock in Florida over a week.

He earned his law degree at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and was employed as an Assistant the Nashville-Davidson County District Attorney's Office.

Selecman, 28, an assistant district attorney in Nashville where he had lived with Jackson's daughter Mattie, died of "severe traumatic head injuries" in the fall, Jackson posted on his website Thursday.

Please keep Alan's family in your thoughts and prayers today. "He will be truly missed". The couple tied the knot in October 2017. "Ben will tell you we first met at a mutual friend's wedding, but I just remember dancing with a cute guy and never thinking about him after". "He asked me out, and I said no, but he didn't give up", she recalled.

For their wedding, the pair went for a simple-yet-refined approach that showcased both the bride and groom's genteel Southern tastes. Three months later, he called.

Ben was an East Tennessee (Knoxville) native and a graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, per WKRN. "Three months later, I finally relented, so he drove nearly four hours just for dinner, and we've talked every day since". They shared a "surprise" first dance - a two-step swing dance - to her father's first radio single, "Blue Blooded Woman".

As of this writing, it does not appear as if Jackson has canceled any tour dates due to his son-in-law's death.

Jackson will be able to take the weekend to spend time with his family after cancelling shows in North and SC earlier this week due to Hurricane Florence, which is expected to lash the states from Thursday night.
