The new XR will feature numerous same technologies as the new flagship XS and XS Max devices but has a 6.1-inch LCD Liquid Retina display. It comes equipped with a 12MP wide-angle camera with an all-new sensor and 1.4 million pixels (the same as in the iPhone XS and XS Max).

This one will cost nearly $1,100, topping last year's iPhone X, which at $1,000 seemed jaw-dropping at the time.

Apple launches the new, affordable iPhone XR. iPhone XR will have a display measuring 6.1 inches with an LCD display.

The new Apple iPhone Xs (L) and iPhone Xs Max (R) are displayed during an Apple special event at the Steve Jobs Theatre on September 12, 2018 in Cupertino, California. The XR will come in black, white, red, yellow, coral, and blue colors.

The iPhone continues to be the world's most popular camera, so Apple focuses a great deal of attention to ensuring that its smartphone camera capabilities stay relevant.

Apple has just announced the iPhone XS and XS MAX, a new generation of iPhones that brings iPhone photographer to the next level.

The phones will go on sale next week on Friday, September 21, but you can preorder this Friday, September 14.

You can pre-order the iPhone Xr beginning October 19 and it will ship on October 26.

The all new iPhone Xs will be priced similar to the iPhone X, and will cost you $999 for the base variant.

In addition, Apple said the Series 4 Apple Watch will also be able to detect when someone falls - and can tell the difference between a trip and a fall. The iPhone XS Max has a 6.5in (16.5cm) display.

They start at $599 with Global Positioning System, and $749 with Global Positioning System and cellular. You do still get a free pair of Apple EarPods, however.

For starters the Watch Series 4 is thinner, yet despite that it now has a much larger OLED display that nearly reaches to the edge of the device. Last year's iPhone X - pronounced "ten" - represented a major redesign.

The fall detection upgrade is expected to appeal to worker safety concerns in factories or other industrial settings, as well as to elderly or disabled users. And it doesn't have 3D Touch, Apple's technology that typically shows users more options or information if they press down on an app icon or menu option.

Introducing the device, marketing head Phil Schiller said the firm wanted to "reach as many people as possible".

The speaker has been made 50 percent louder, and the microphone has been moved to the other side to reduce echo and improve call quality.

All three new models join the iPhone X in getting rid of the home button to make room for more screen. Prices start at $399 for the non-cellular aluminum models in space gray, silver and gold, and $499 for the non-cellular stainless steel models in silver, "polished graphite" and gold.
