Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail wants to mess with your head again, and this time he's got some serious A-list star power to help him do it.

Julia Roberts looks like she's been through the ringer a few times in the new trailer for Amazon Studios' new thriller series Homecoming.

See if you can make out any version of the story in the head trip trailer, because I can't. Everyone at Homecoming seems to think that they have total freedom - Walter Cruz (Stephan James), a newly-returned soldier, even says, "We can leave whenever we want" - but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The synopsis of the trailer reads, "Heidi Bergman (Julia Roberts) is a caseworker at Homecoming, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition to civilian life".

The cast also includes Jeremy Allen White, Alex Karpovsky and Dermot Mulroney, among others. Years later she has started a new life, living with her mother and working as a waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor questions why she left the Homecoming facility. "Heidi learns that there really is a whole labyrinth of mysteries surrounding the job she thought she left behind".

Homecoming, based on the podcast by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg (who also serve as showrunners), jumps back and forth from the past when Heidi works at Homecoming to four years into the future when she has zero memory of that experience.
