In a statement, the Met Police said: 'Mark Lamarr, 51, was charged on Saturday, September 1 with common assault and false imprisonment.

Lamarr, 51, was a regular on TV screens in the 1990s and starred in The Word, The Big Breakfast and Shooting Stars.

"He was released on conditional bail and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates" Court on October 2, ' a spokesperson said.

His neighbour added that Lamarr keeps a low profile and avoids the limelight.
