It was a big day for the Duchess of Sussex, who was at the launch of her new cookbook with the community affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

Markle showed gratitude to the women for embracing her into their kitchens and for partaking in the cookbook, which she called a "tremendous labor of love".

The "Together: Our Community Cookbook", a collection of 50 recipes from the diverse users of the communal kitchen at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre, will be used to allow the project to expand and open for up to seven days a week.

According to ITV's Royal Editor Chris Ship, Doria introduced herself saying "I'm Meg's mom" adding that she was "head over heels" with pride over her daughter's role within the cookbook.

Meghan helped put the group in touch with a publisher and her Royal Foundation provided assistance with legal and administrative issues.

The Duchess of Sussex wrote in the foreword of the book: "I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together".

Prince Harry also joined for the celebration.

The most striking element of Meghan's look was her blue coat, which was from Canadian brand SMYTHE, and costs an eye-watering £1,186. All proceeds from the book will benefit the kitchen.

Zahira Ghaswala, the Hubb's co-ordinator who hosted Meghan's first visit to the kitchen, said about the book's sales: "As far as I know, on Amazon we're number one - everything's just been a positive vibe out there".

In a sweet moment, one of the chefs set aside a plate of food for the Duke and Duchess, to which Meghan kindly responded: "Oh thank you, I'll take that home and have it for dinner".

Later in the speech, Meghan raved over the new cookbook, telling the audience - which included her mother, Doria Ragland - that "the power of food is more than just the meal itself".

"And when you know the story of the recipe, you get to know the person behind it, and that's what we're talking about in terms of coming together to really engage and talk and to be able to really celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us".
