"Sometimes, it gives you bananas", the TDCJ post joked.

21, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) posted on Facebook about a drug mix up that sounds like it has just as wild a story behind it as the hit AMC TV series.

You never know what you're going to get in life, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) found that out for themselves when they discovered almost $18 million worth of cocaine underneath a shipment of bananas Friday. The department says they were already ripe - and according to USA Today, they were never claimed at the port.

Two sergeants from the Scott Unit collected the boxes, but became suspicious as one of the boxes felt different.

Across all 45 boxes of bananas, officials found 540 packages of cocaine. They searched all 45 boxes and found 540 packages of cocaine with an estimated street value of $17,820,000. Inside that? What appeared to be a white powdery substance. However, before taking off, one of the sergeants noticed how much heavier a particular box was in comparison to the others, he saw reason to investigate.

"They immediately notified port authorities and awaited their instruction".

U.S. Customs agents confirmed it was cocaine.

The DEA and Customs are continuing their investigation.
