Jane Fonda speaks to the audience at a special Q&A for her documentary Jane Fonda In Five Acts on Thursday (September 20) at The Pool Room at The Seagram Building in New York City.

"I'm glad I look good for my age, but I've had plastic surgery", the Oscar-winning actress admitted, according to PEOPLE.

Jane Fonda underwent plastic surgery for the sake of keeping up appearances in Hollywood, but now, she feels as though that may have been a mistake.

She now stars in the Netflix series "Grace and Frankie", which is headed into its fifth season.

"On one level, I hate the fact that I've had the need to alter myself physically to feel that I'm OK".

'I wish I wasn't like that.

'I wish I was braver. I love older faces. "Katharine Hepburn was three years younger than I am now when she made that movie [On Golden Pond]". Moreover, Jane stated her admiration of Vanessa Redgrave's appearence, arguing that she had a attractive "lived-in face".

Fonda has not been shy in the past when it comes to discussing plastic surgery. Along with this admission, Jane also expresses a little regret of getting so much work done. I love Vanessa Redgrave's face.

Speaking to the Observer magazine in May she said: 'I feel very sad that so many girls are abused all over the world and that men don't understand what it does to them.

In 2011, Fonda told Harper's Bazaar that she was "vain" and said, "I was taught by my father that how I looked was all that mattered, frankly. And there are plenty of women who do belong in the boardroom".

The former CBS co-anchor came under fire past year after several women who worked with him alleged a pattern of sexual misconduct, including groping and walking naked in front of them. When I see a woman who's made her face a mask I say: "'I bet, I bet'".

Jane Fonda has admitted she regrets having plastic surgery and says she now loves the look of "older, lived-in faces".
