Delta Air Lines says it has restarted flights after a ground stop due to a "technology issue".

Delta Air Lines previously announced it is experiencing technical difficulties with its app, making it hard for travelers. Delta employees are now working diligently to accommodate customers whose travel plans have been affected.

Passengers sit in stations equipped with iPads ahead of their flights at a Delta terminal in LaGuardia Airport in New York June 22, 2014. The Fly Delta app is also now functional.

The airline said Delta flights in the air were not disrupted. "We apologize to all customers for this inconvenience". Delta said delays on Wednesday from the outage should be minimal. Delta has since said that ground stop was lifted. We are experiencing technical difficulties at this time.

Details were very limited but the company responded to those who reached out on social media describing the situation as a "technical issue" - and adding that crews were working to get the problem fixed as soon as possible. "We appreciate your continued patience", reads one response from Delta.
