The outer bands of Hurricane Michael tossed a cruise ship around, jostling hundreds of vacation-goers in the Gulf of Mexico.

Snapper Tams shared footage of Royal Caribbean's Empress of the Sea's rough ride on October 8 sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.as it was southwest of Isla de la Juventud.

The video shows a deck of the ship being lashed by high winds and rains.

You can see lightning in the distance and white foam on the sea.

"Arrival to Havana #severelydelayed, ' 'the passenger wrote on the Twitter where the video has had more than 4,000 views".

The cruise ship was headed for Havana.

The self-described entrepreneur and social worker from Richmond, Virginia told the news network that the ship waited for a few hours for the hurricane to pass through the Yucatan Channel.

Michael is expected to make landfall in the Panhandle of Florida.
