The actress will reportedly earn $15 million, which is what Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) got for "Avengers: Infinity War" and their standalone movies.

The report also notes that Larson, in part because of such loyalty, is receiving $5m for Captain Marvel, which is well above the normal starting price in the MCU (Chadwick Boseman, for example, received $2m for Black Panther as per the same report, and that was considerably more than Robert Downey Jr was making 10 years ago).

THR points out that the high salaries are just a small dent in the box office grosses for these films: Each "Avengers" film has easily made more than $1 billion worldwide, and "Infinity War" crossed the $2 billion mark.

Scarlett Johansson will reportedly earn $15 million for her title role in Marvel Studios' long-awaited Black Widow film.

While Johansson does have some seniority in the MCU, Marvel usually doesn't give huge paydays for first solo films.

THR reports that a Marvel Studios spokesman responded to their request for comment saying "Marvel Studios disputes the accuracy of these numbers, and as a matter of policy, we never publicly disclose salaries or deal terms".

They could be future Avengers movies, new franchises Marvel decides to launch in Phase 4, which could include Alpha Flight or A-Force, or cameo/crossover appearances in other existing properties. Evans first played Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, in "Captain America: The First Avenger" in 2011. After her solo outing, she's confirmed to appear in Avengers 4.

Captain Marvel will hit theaters March 8, 2019.
