Fox News probably wasn't expecting the blowback it's getting in a thread on Twitter after it called attention in a tweet to the fact that Jamie Lee Curtis is seen brandishing weapons in her latest film, "Halloween", even though she is an advocate for gun control.

Yeah, so to break that down, Fox News was claiming that because Curtis' character Laurie Strode uses guns in a horror movie, that Curtis' own personal views on guns were hypocritical. "I was very clear with the filmmakers that she used the weapons (that) were intended for self-defense for her and her family".

"I am vocal about common-sense gun safety and gun laws", she told the publisher. "For instance, I fully support an assault weapon ban, I fully support a bump stock ban". And fully support the Second Amendment.

"On top of that, she urged the "Halloween" filmmakers to be cognizant of sensible gun ownership in developing her character for the upcoming film".

"I'm an actress who's in slasher movies", she told the publisher. But I am an actor for hire. She added: "If I had made my career as a pacifist actor, I would never have worked, ever".
