We're now a little more than a week removed from the Ryder Cup and the USA loss is finally starting to set in for all involved.

"When I started looking at who [Tiger] would pair well with, I kept coming back to Patrick Reed", added Furyk. "There was always the idea that we could go Tiger and [Justin Thomas], and Patrick and Jordan, but ultimately they knew going into the week, weeks in advance, they knew they would start the Ryder Cup with Patrick and Tiger being partners".

It's good to see Furyk come out and try to put the fire out on all of these rumors because these are the type of things that can linger over to the next Ryder Cup two years from now.

'It's been tough, ' Furyk told the Golf Channel. 'I was the leader of that team, and it didn't go the way we wanted. "It'll always bother me".

'There's a reason why I said that Tommy and Francesco were unbeatable, because I would love to have to go up against them again, ' Reed said on Sirius XM PGA Tour radio.

"That was something obviously that had been talked about in advance, but all I was anxious about was that I knew I was going to play with Jordan and we wanted to take care of our match", Thomas told reporters in Kuala Lumpur (via GolfWeek). "It's not true", Koepka said.

Furyk also admitted there was an incident between Koepka and Johnson during the after party at the end of the weekend.

The two players had to be separated following a flare-up inside the Europe team room, where they had joined the celebrating hosts for a beer on Sunday night.

"Whatever altercation started, or what happened, it was very brief". You've got Phil [Mickelson] and Tiger, who are the elder statesmen of the team, and all the young guys really look up to them. "Neither one of them really took anything out of it", Furyk said. "They knew they were going out that first session in four ball, and I think that was a great session for them, and (we talked about) when Patrick felt they should go out in the order one through four".
