During Tuesday's Made by Google event, Xiaomi announced it will soon begin selling the Mi Box S in the US. The device runs Android TV 8.1 that comes with voice remote with along with shortcut buttons like, app shortcut, Netflix shortcut, Assistant button, support for Google Assistant for easy voice search and also has a built-in Chromecast along with 4K HDR support.

There's a new remote control with this smart TV box. Just like the Mi Box, you can also connect a supported gamepad and play games on the big screen. It doesn't appear to support Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos, however, but for that price I don't know how much you can really complain. You can also use the assistant to find a movie/show, ask it to play a song, or even ask it the weather. When it comes to ports, the Xiaomi Mi Box S offers HDMI 2.0a, USB 2.0, and audio out.

An unknown quad-core processor powers the Xiaomi Mi Box S with Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali 450 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi Box S is priced at $59.99 and is only available to buy through Walmart. It looks like it has volume control as well, plus a dedicated Google Assistant button and all of your typical Android TV navigation keys. This streaming gadget joins the slim Xiaomi US portfolio that previously consists of the Mi Power Bank Pro 10000mAh; a few Mi Headphones; the Mi Bluetooth Speaker; a home security camera, action camera, and Mi Sphere Camera, as well as certain lifestyle products. The Xiaomi Mi Box S costs $60 and will be available October 19, with preorders starting today. In fact, it is now $10 lower than what the original Mi Box launched for, and in spite of the additional features.
