After apologising for their "drunken mistake" on social media and It Takes Two with Zoe Ball, 47, ex-Strictly professional Kristina Rihanoff, 41, has spoken out about the situation.

The judge said the couple need to be professional and he will be scoring them on their dancing alone.

"I think she broke protocol over that".

Craig, 53, went on to say that it will be "tough" for Seann and Katya and her husband Neil Jones, as the pair now have to "go on and do the dance of shame".

However, Craig has insisted it's important to keep the pair in the competition because they should "get on with the job and show people what you're made of".

"They are performers at the end of the day, and they have to put all of this aside, and let's face it, there are much more hard situations... last year, Alexandra Burke danced and her mother passed away, and I'm sure that was a real, real struggle to get herself together".

"Statistically people get together at work, and that's where people work".

Following her statement, Seann faced calls to quit the show altogether, though he ignored the furore and will be dancing a Charleston in this week's live show.

'You prepare for the show, you tour.

Kristina also spoke about how a professional dancer and a celebrity contestant can get close to one another, just like in any other working environment.

"[The celebrity] is very vulnerable right away, having to learn something new".

She is now in a relationship with rugby player Ben Cohen, who she was partnered with on Strictly in 2013.

The Russian stated the fact that her relationship and family with Ben blossomed after the BBC show had finished.

"And also I have a family, I have a child and we are a family and that's what matters". Relationships do happen, I'm not the only person to have a second relationship, a second marriage.

"Anything where you have a partnership or teamwork you do have a connection because you have to trust each other".

"We can't really judge because we don't know what's happening behind closed doors".

Last week, during Movie Week, the pair scored a combined 32 points from the judges for their Paso Doble.

"I hope people can give them a chance".
