Steelers Still Haven't Heard From Le'Veon Bell

Although James Conner has been playing exceptionally as the replacement running back, it's hard to imagine the Steelers struggling as much with Bell on the field.

Running back Le'Veon Bell hasn't told the Steelers about whether he's reporting during the bye week, but he did have his eye on the team Sunday. In Bell's six-game absence, Conner has rushed for 453 yards (with three 100-yard games) and scored seven touchdowns on the ground. With the bye week rapidly approaching, you would assume Bell would check in with his team. What a great game, but I know it's his last game for us, so, because Le'Veon's coming back.

Again, the expectation is that Bell will report to the team sometime between this Monday and Monday, Oct. 22, but no one in the organization has any idea when he'll actually return, according to Schefter. "I thought he did well in his last one".

There's a lot of gossip surrounding that impending return, with sources telling ESPN that Steelers officials and players have heard nothing from Bell, who could return at any point between Monday and October 22.

Bell has been holding out and has missed the first five games of the season after the Steelers placed the franchise tag on him for the second straight year. "He wants to prove that".
