This summer, First Lady of the United States Melania Trump traveled to McAllen, Texas where a large number of families were greatly affected by a separation crisis sparked by the policies of her husband, President Trumps's administration.

Though the jacket nearly certainly had no bearing on Melania's interaction with the families she visited in Texas this past June, the recent revelation begs the question of why the FLOTUS chose to lie about the jacket in the first place.

When asked about the infamous "I really don't care, do you?" jacket in an interview with ABC News, the former model admitted that it was "kind of a message" to her haters, AKA "the people and left-wing media".

"It's obvious I didn't wear the jacket for the children, I wore the jacket to go on the plane and off the plane", she said. I want to show them I don't care.

However, she was criticised for wearing the controversial jacket on her way to the centre and during her return trip, although she took off the jacket before arriving at the centre itself. You could criticize whatever you want to say.

At that moment, what Mel felt was right was to plaster a cryptic message on her back as a way to lampoon the media for being "obsessed" about her clothing rather than her "initiatives".

Melania's apparent stand delighted supporters, but critics have focused on the fact the admission has caught her team in a lie, and criticised the timing of her message.
