Southampton, Crystal Palace and Cardiff have been alerted to Edin Dzeko's willingness to return to the Premier League.

Dzeko won the Premier League twice with Manchester City but has found his feet in Serie A, banging in 78 goals in all competitions since arriving in Rome. He played an integral role in City's first two Premier League title triumphs. However, his proposed move to Chelsea didn't materialise, with the Blues signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal instead.

As Sky Sports report, Dzeko nearly sealed a second shot at life in the Premier League back in January.

Dzeko, 32, scored two goals in the victory over Northern Ireland to move up to 301 career strikes for club and country.

"It's probably too late for me to return to the Premier League, but you never know: we'll see", he said after the Nations League win, as quoted by BBC.

"Regarding the Premier League, maybe it's too late".

"I love English football, I played in the Premier League for four-and-a-half years and enjoyed it a lot, even if I'm happy at Roma right now".

Dzeko was clearly unwilling to sign the short-term contract that Chelsea were offering, but that's not to say one of our Premier League counterparts wouldn't be prepared to offer a player of his quality a longer deal.
