Nokia X7 announced with Snapdragon 710 SoC; price starts Rs. 18,000

Nokia X7 aka 7.1 Plus is official now and HMD has taken care of numerous complaints raised by Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco owners. With prices starting at 1,699 Yuan (about Rs 18,000) for the base 4GB/64GB variant, Nokia is really trying to get the grab of the mid-range smartphone market. The Nokia X7 also has the PureDisplay technology which the company introduced with the Nokia 7.1; It's nothing but the display on the X7 supports HDR titles. This smartphone comes with several highlights including a notch display, AI camera capabilities, a glass back, and a capacious battery with fast charging support.

Nokia X7 bestows a 6.18-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. The screen comes with DCI-P3 wide color gamut and support for HDR video playback.

The phone is powered by the new Snapdragon 710 chipset with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. HMD has added a third slot allowing users to expand storage up to 400GB with a microSD card.

The revived Nokia under HMD started with just a few phones a couple of years back, but now it seems to launch a new device every other day.

The Nokia X7 measures 154.8 x 75.76 x 7.97 mm and weighs 178 grams. The setup includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with telephoto lens for zoom and portrait mode. The S710 has advanced hardware to power AI and the Nokia X7 uses it extensively in the camera app – AI bokeh effect, AI recognition for 18 scenes and so on. It comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variants.

Moving onto the connectivity options, it has Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nokia X7 has been announced in Red, Dark Blue, Silver and Midnight Black colors. The sale will debut on October 23 in China and there is no word regarding its global release.

The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out the box, with Pie goodies set to roll out over-the-air before long, while memory and storage options cap off at 6 and 128GB respectively.
