Russell Westbrook will miss the Oklahoma City Thunder's season opener Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors as he continues recovering from knee surgery.

The Thunder's game notes released Monday afternoon listed Andre Roberson (left patellar knee surgery) and Russell Westbrook (right knee scope) as out, but the true eyebrow-raiser on the team's injury report was Steven Adams listed as questionable with lower back soreness. Dennis Schroder will likely start in Westbrook's absence.

Adams is coming off a dominant preseason in which he averaged 11 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in fewer than 25 minutes a game.

On Tuesday the Warriors kicked off their National Basketball Association season in a game loaded with storylines.

The Thunder have two days off following Tuesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors and are scheduled to practice both days before playing the Clippers on Friday.

Westbrook underwent the procedure on September 12 and was slated to be re-evaluated in four weeks, which was last Wednesday, but coach Billy Donovan told reporters Tuesday the seven-time All-Star would miss the opener.
