Well, he's now finally back with The Kid Who Would Be King.

The Kid Who Would Be King will ascend to its rightful throne in United Kingdom cinemas on 15 February 2019 - and stay tuned to Empire for a trailer breakdown with Joe Cornish, talking King Arthur, zombie knights, and bunking off school to eat McDonalds.

Old school magic meets the modern world in the epic adventure THE KID WHO WOULD BE KING.

In The Kid Who Would Be King, a boy named Alex discovers Excalibur and embarks on adventure to defeat the evil sorceress Morgana with the help of the wizard Merlin - played by none other than Patrick Stewart. He's already banked appearances in things like the shelved-and-soon-to-be-released Benedict Cumberbatch/Michael Shannon historical drama, The Current War, BBC miniseries SS-GB, Tom Hardy FX thriller series, Taboo, movie sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass. When he successfully lifts it from a concrete pillar, a fantasy apocalypse is triggered - with Rebecca Ferguson's villainous Morgana awakening from her centuries-long slumber. Angus Imrie (Kingdom) plays a young incarnation of the wizard Merlin, with Sir Patrick Stewart (Logan) as the senior version.

The film is based on an original script by writer/director Joe Cornish, who co-wrote The Adventures of Tintin and Ant-Man with Edgar Wright and directed 2011's cult classic Attack the Block.

The Kid Who Would Be King hits theaters on January 25 in the USA and on February 15 in the UK. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the picture and Michael Ireland will oversee the project for the studio.
