Pre-orders have finally begun for the most affordable handset in Apple's new line-up, the iPhone XR.

And it also comes in more colours - six to be exact, reminiscent of the iPhone 5C from 2013: white, black, blue, yellow, coral and (Product) RED. It is priced at Rs 76,900 with 64GB storage, the 128GB storage variant will cost Rs 81,900 and the 256GB storage model costs Rs 91,900.

The iPhone XR will go on sale in more than 50 countries and territories including Singapore from Oct 26, Apple Singapore said in its news release on Wednesday.

The iPhone XR falls well below the iPhone XS and XS Max because it brings an LCD display rather than OLED.

The iPhone XR with 12MP rear camera and 7MP front sensor claims to have better lowa'light performance. On the front of the phone, the biggest difference between the iPhone XR and Apple's flagship XS and XS Max models is the LCD screen, and that's the next element the video promotes.

Starting with the iPhone XS, the total that you'll have to pay for the 64GB model will total up to RM4591. In terms of savings, it's more or less the same as the iPhone XS above - the most affordable model is about RM400 less than getting it from Apple directly.

"The new iPhone XR has a gorgeous new aerospace-grade aluminium and glass enclosure that has IP67 protection from liquids and dust, long all-day battery life and comes in six attractive finishes". The glass panel on the back also enables wireless charging support. Airtel's online store will offer convenient EMI options that come with a built-in postpaid plan, which includes large dollops of data, unlimited calling and bundled premium content.

This phone features plenty of new technology including a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina edge-to-edge display, wireless charging and new A12 Bionic processor which is now outperforming all of its Android rivals in speed tests.

The device's 6.1-inch display features a resolution of 1,792 x 828 and supports Tap to Wake functionality. The presence of Face ID also means that the iPhone XR does not carry over the fingerprint sensor from the previous generations of iPhones.
