Trainwreck star Schumer also said she would not participate in any commercials that would air during this year's Super Bowl.

The comedian and actress explained her stance at length Friday on Instagram, challenging white National Football League players to kneel as well.

Schumer also addressed a report that Rihanna turned down an offer to be this season's Super Bowl halftime performer.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the comedian called attention to the Football League's handling of Colin Kaepernick's National Anthem protest in 2016, implying that those who ignore racial tensions in the USA are complicit.

Actress Amy Schumer has weighed in on this year's potential Super Bowl half-time lineup, saying that Adam Levine led Maroon 5 should join Rihanna in turning down the gig. Why not kneel next to your brothers? "Otherwise how are you not complicit?"

"I personally told my reps I wouldn't do a Super Bowl commercial this year", she posted. Schumer added that "I think it would be cool if [Maroon 5] backed out" as well. "I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it's all I got".

The 37-year-old previously appeared in a series of politically charged Bud Light commercials opposite Seth Rogen during the big game in 2016.

"Hitting the nfl with the advertisers is the only way to hurt them", Schumer wrote of her ban.

Schumer compared opposing the NFL to opposing the National Rifle Association.
