Raiders Trade Amari Cooper To Cowboys For First-Round Pick

Cooper, who suffered a concussion during Oakland's loss to Seattle in London on October 14, has just 22 catches for 280 yards and one touchdown in six games this season. And Cowboys receivers haven't made many big plays in their first season without Bryant and retired tight end Jason Witten, the club leader in catches.

Rapoport reported Cooper's fifth-year option for $13.9 million comes off the books for Oakland.

Dallas receivers have just one 100-yard game combined through seven games, by Cole Beasley in a Week 6 win over Jacksonville. But it is another example of the Raiders (1-5) looking to the future.

As a result of today's trade, the Raiders will now have three first round picks in 2019 - their own, the Raiders', and the Bears' pick which they acquired via the Khalil Mack deal.

When pressed about this following Monday's blockbuster trade, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie refused to say that starting quarterback Derek Carr was untouchable in trade talks. The Raiders now have three picks in the first round, a setup that has been very successful for teams in recent seasons. Galloway, drafted eighth overall by the Seahawks in 1995, didn't have a 1,000-yard season in four years with the Cowboys. That is elite receiver money and Cooper is not an elite receiver, and then you remember the Cowboys are giving up a first round pick that right now would be in the top 10.
