LaMelo Ball's professional hoops career is taking a pause. because the youngest Ball brother is returning to high school basketball, having been accepted at a super exclusive prep school. However, he withdrew from Chino Hills High School (California) last October and signed with BC Vytautas in Lithuania along with his brother, LiAngelo.

Ball just announced he will enroll at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, a school that boasts state-of-the-art facilities also used in training the U.S. Olympic team.

Going against elite high school prospects in a controlled environment will give National Basketball Association scouts a better idea of where the 17-year-old is in his development. When LiAngelo Ball was arrested for shoplifting in China, LaVar opted to have both sons take the overseas route in Lithuania - with mixed results.

"I'm excited to return to school and rejoin my class on the court for my senior year", said Ball. "I thank my dad for the JBA Experience and playing overseas". I learned and matured so much.

Brantley shared how his understanding was LaMelo only looking to relive the high school experience.

He will reportedly make his debut with Spire on November 13 against national power La Lumiere in Indiana.

Whether the Ball Brothers' seeming return to their basketball senses pays the ultimate dividend - joining their oldest sibling Lonzo Ball on the Los Angeles Lakers - remains to be seen, but theirs continues to be a sporting story like no other. I think it helped my development. In his last JBA International Tour game against the London Lions, the now 6-7 point guard posted a 41-point triple-double (17 assists and 13 rebounds).

Ball averaged 40.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, 11.0 assists and 3.6 steals per game during the inaugural JBA season. During the first seven games of the JBA International Tour he averaged 29.9 points, 12.
