Evgeni Malkin briefly knocked T.J. Oshie out of Wednesday night's game between the Penguins and Capitals with an elbow to the head, but the star forward will not receive further supplemental discipline from the league's Department of Player Safety, according to several reports.

Oshie was able to return to the ice and even conducted a postgame interview following the Caps' 2-1 win.

Early in the third period of the tilt, the forwards collided as Malkin carried the puck into the Capitals' zone on the power play.

Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said after the game he wasn't expecting Malkin to face a suspension for the hit.

The big Russian's elite skillset does come with some costly discipline issues, which were on full display when Malkin was ejected after delivering an egregious hit to Oshie just 15 minutes before the latter nabbed the game-winner. He exited in the first period after taking a high-stick near his left eye which required two stitches.

"It's not my concern anymore". Malkin received a 5-minute major for his illegal check and game misconduct and was ejected. Malkin, as we know, is oozing with talent and has consistently been a top three or four forward in the National Hockey League for the better part of his storied career, but he has a tendency to, shall we say, put his temper on full display from time to time. "I don't really care what happens to him".
