Celtics guard Terry Rozier unhappy with playing time

The Boston Celtics will be faced with a tough decision in the near future. The Celtics defeat the Timberwolves 91-84.

And yet, at least seven teams are reportedly hoping the Celtics will make an exception with regard to backup point guard Terry Rozier.

The Athletic's Shams Charania confirmed that package was indeed made available to Minnesota, with the injured duo of Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight as the players at the center, but the Wolves weren't interested. Since the season started we've heard relatively little about teams' pursuit of Butler, aside from the Rockets attempting to get him with a package including four first round picks.

There's logic to both arguments, but for now it seems Rozier isn't openly airing grievances to those in power.

"Unexpected early-season Celts subplot: Terry Rozier (restricted FA next summer) has been unhappy w/ his PT all season, word has gotten around the league, and everyone now knows the Celtics need to trade him... which, of course, makes it harder to trade him", he reports. He's clearly a valuable player, but he might be more of a luxury than a necessity for this Celtics team.

Celtics GM Danny Ainge, meanwhile, has shot down these rumors. It is a logical assertion given Rozier played a huge role in last season's improbable postseason run with Kyrie Irving out, only to have his role reduced this season.

"Not since the season started, no", he said on the radio.

"Not since the season started, no".

The Boston Celtics are 6-4, boast one of the deepest rosters in the National Basketball Association and are arguably the favorite to win the Eastern Conference this year.

"Scary Terry" may be headed out of Boston.
