WB and Serkis no doubt assumed Disney's version would be colorful and musical, thereby making Mowgli stand apart, but that wasn't the case, so the release date was pushed back and Serkis kept tinkering with the film via motion-capture.

Good news, guys: the new trailer for The Jungle Book live-action remake, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, just dropped and boy, it's goooood.

Mowgli will now premiere with a limited cinematic release on November 29 in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London before hitting Netflix on 7 December.

Mowgli will have an expanded theatrical release in additional theatres in the United States and UK.

Still, the trailer is a visual treasure to behold, with Serkis stepping in to play Baloo the bear and Rohan Chand playing Mowgli. Now, we have a brand-new trailer for Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and while it does look more polished than it did before, it still does look a bit...off. The jungle fam then encourage Mowgli to join the human village folk for his own safety from resident animal kingdom asshole, Shere Khan. The A-list cast also includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Matthew Rhys, and Freida Pinto. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins. If you're asking 'WHY THO?' it's because, unlike the Disney telling of The Jungle Book, there won't be any music in this movie.
