Vance Joseph, the team's current coach, went 5-11 last year and his Broncos have started 3-6 this year. "We've got to move on", Joseph said. "He's no longer a Bronco, and I can't spend any time worrying about that. But as far as reading that stuff, I'm disappointed it was presented that way, I really am".

Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas #87 of the Houston Texans runs a route under coverage by defensive back Tramaine Brock #22 of the Denver Broncos in the first quarter of a game at Broncos Stadium at Mile High on November 4, 2018 in Denver, Colorado.

Joseph added that Broncos players vote for the team captains and said he was unsure why Thomas expressed discontent with that decision. "As a football player, as a guy on that team, I just want the truth", the "Schlereth and Evans" co-host said.

Thomas also said in the radio interview that Joseph had told him not to believe the trade rumors and that he would not be dealt.

On his interactions with Thomas before the trade, Joseph said: "I think it's a little frustration on his part, but I'm disappointed in how it came out, because I don't recall it being discussed that way". I didn't get pissed about nothing.

Joseph expressed his appreciation for Thomas.

That's not a great stat for Joseph's resume. I'm disappointed in how he remembers it, but again, we have great respect for D.T. He was a great player here, and we honored him on Sunday. Until something happened, we all had to focus on doing our jobs and winning football games.
