Despite the chilly conditions in Belarus, a white-hot atmosphere greeted Maurizio Sarri's side at a tightly-packed Borisov Arena.

The Blues remained unbeaten in 17 competitive games this season, qualifying for the last 32 with two matches to spare.

"I don't think the reception will be the best", Barkley told the Evening Standard.

Olivier Giroud's first Chelsea goal since May, and 794 minutes of playing time, earned a 1-0 victory at BATE Borisov and a fourth win from four Group L games.

"On the day I might get a few nerves as it will feel a bit unusual".

"I was in trouble", Sarri said.

"We had a very good win against Leicester and we were competitive in all of them". I think we didn't play very well, I didn't like the first half because we moved the ball only horizontally and slowly, so it was hard to be unsafe.

"In the last match he played only for 30 minutes".

"I think we are a lot more positive than maybe we have been and players like Richarlison are the reason why you think you can go there and get something".

Dmitri Baga had hit the post in the first half from long range and Nikolai Signevich followed sit on the hour mark.

BATE had no such difficulty at the other end and the home side nearly went ahead in the 12th minute through Dzmitry Baha, but the midfielder's 25-yard strike hit the post with Kepa Arrizabalaga beaten.

Sarri added: "I'm pleased for him".

"Our fear is that they are very similar, want to get on the ball, want to travel with the ball", Sinclair said on Chelsea TV.

Will Hazard come back in?

The England worldwide has become a regular under Sarri, scoring three goals in his last five Chelsea appearances.

"It's been important for him the way we play because it's making him a little bit more complete. For his confidence it is very important".
