St. Augustine Police say Brandon Hatfield was seen on surveillance video breaking into the farm at about 7:45 p.m. Monday.

"We got somebody who told us they were bitten by an alligator".

A man wearing Crocs has been left injured after he broke into a crocodile enclosure in Florida. Police say he was hospitalized and faces a vandalism charge.

While he was being transported to a nearby hospital, another 911 call came in, reporting the alligator farm break-in the previous evening, and authorities realized the two incidents were related.

Mr Hatfield, who was already facing burglary and damaging property/criminal mischief charges, then chose to dive into a pond filled with crocodiles. Hatfield then scrambles out of the water, leaving behind a trail of blood.

No details were available as to why the man jumped into the exhibit, which featured three 12-foot crocodiles, the report showed. "In our 125-year history, this is the first time anyone has tried to go swimming with the crocodiles".

Hatfield caused about $5,000 in damage, authorities said.

"I would think he's on some sort of drugs", Bruggen said. Placed under arrest, he was returned to the hospital for surgery to his foot and a possible broken ankle from jumping off a roof at the Alligator Farm, the report said. He was arrested and is being held without bond.
