While the Celtics played the Jazz last season, Hayward was unable to suit up following the season-ending injury he suffered during Boston's first game of the 2017-18 campaign.

Hayward was originally selected by the Jazz out of Butler with the ninth pick in the 2010 draft.

Crowder sealed it on a corner three that gave Utah a 117-109 lead with 47.7 seconds left. Utah finished with 45-28 advantage on rebounds against Boston.

Boston lost for the third time in four games after allowing Utah to shoot a season-high 56 percent from the field.

The Jazz started to pull away when they scored 3-pointers on each of their final four possessions of the second quarter to take a 58-51 halftime lead. Ingles accounted for the first three long-distance baskets, highlighting a 20-point first half for him.

They held the dynamic Mitchell to just six shots until one minute remaining in the third quarter. Mitchell ignited the run by draining three free throws and driving for a layup on back-to-back possessions.

The Jazz built their lead to 83-63 on a layup by Crowder before Boston rallied in the fourth quarter.

Terry Rozier scored 22 points and Jayson Tatum added 21 for the Celtics. Rozier nailed a 3 to cap off the run and cut Utah's lead to 100-96. "I'll leave it at that".

Australian NBA star Joe Ingles has turned in yet another dazzling shooting display, pouring in a career-best 27 points as the Utah Jazz prevailed over the Boston Celtics.

Celtics: Smart set season high with 10 assists. Smart also scored 13 points for his first double-double of the season. He has made 512 3-pointers with the Jazz.
