Patriots sideline Rob Gronkowski until after bye week

If Gronkowski indeed sits out Sunday's game, it wouldn't be much of a surprise.

Gronk was listed as questionable coming into the weekend and it sure seemed based on the way he presented his situation to reporters on Friday that he might not be playing for New England in Nashville on Sunday. Gronkowski hasn't been himself since Week 6 against Kansas City and has missed two of New England's last three games.

Overall, it has not been a successful season for the 29-year-old - even as the Patriots lead the AFC East with a 7-2 record.

That's not to say this is a freebie for the Patriots.

But this does feel like a game we saw from the Pats a few weeks ago, when New England just did their best to pop some points on the board and get out of Buffalo with a win.

The Boston Herald first reported on Saturday that Gronkowski is likely out versus Tennessee. In seven games this season, Gronkowski has just one touchdown and is averaging 64 yards receiving per game. "That's what I'm doing and I've got to get back to where I need to be, be myself when I get back and it'll all be good".
