Borussia Dortmund maintained their lead at the top of the Bundesliga after a thrilling five-goal classic against old rivals Bayern Munich, but a violent post-match altercation has overshadowed the game.

Bild report that the former France global was angered by the analysis of compatriot Patrick Guillou following Bayern's dramatic 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

"Franck Ribery has informed us that he had an altercation with his countrymen Patrick Guillou, whom he has known for many years", sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told Bild.

Guillou, a former player himself as well as an assistant coach, sought a post-match statement from Ribery when the player snapped and began hurling insults at him.

"We have agreed with Patrick Guillou on Saturday that we will hold a timely meeting to discuss how to clear up the matter for good. Mr Guillou has already indicated that this is also in his interest".

Reports in Germany claim Ribery was enraged by the suggestion and shoved and slapped Guillou. Marco Reus equalized early in the second half with a well-taken penalty. Substitute Paco Alcacer finished off the comeback and secured victory for Dortmund with a goal from a quick counterattack.

On Saturday, Paco Alcacer scored Dortmund's victor as they twice came from behind in a thrilling game to inflict a third defeat on Bayern in six league games, taking just eight points from a possible 21.
