If all you've ever wanted this Christmas was a Microsoft laptop with built-in LTE support, you're in luck, as Microsoft just announced that the 4G version of its Surface Go tablet/laptop is now available to order.

Microsoft revealed its cheaper alternative to the $799 Surface Pro back in July, in the form of the $399 Surface Go. Unlike the ARM-based Windows 10 notebooks and 2-in-1s we've seen from HP, Lenovo, and others, Microsoft opted to stick with an Intel x86 processor.

Surface keyboards for all models will be available separately and cost between $130 for a plastic Type cover and $160 for an Alcantara-covered Type cover.

Until now, though, there's only been one option for wireless connectivity. Happily that's changing now. If you want the LTE model with all the extras, you need $879/£879. Those customers, meanwhile, will get a second configuration of the tablet.

Microsoft's entry-level Surface Go tablet is getting even more portable now that the company is selling the version of the device that features LTE in Canada. It will go on sale in the U.S. and Canada starting November 20, while other 21 markets around the globe will get the new Surface Go variant on November 22. An 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage model will start at $729, and the 8 GB RAM/256 GB of storage model for $829. Preorders start Monday for select markets, and Microsoft expects it to be available in 23 markets by November 22.
