'Westworld' set destroyed as Woolsey Fire engulfs filming location

Paramount Ranch's Western Town set in Agoura Hills, Calif., where "Westworld" filmed many of its Main Street scenes, has burned down in the Woolsey wildfire. The network said that the show, which has been renewed for a third season, wasn't in production and that it doesn't yet know the extent of the damage, according to the news agency. HBO said it did not know the extent of the damage and expressed concern for "all those affected by these terrible fires". Most recently, it served as the town of Sweetwater in the HBO hit series "Westworld".

What the fire means for Westworld's third season remains unclear, but Aaron Paul - who will be joining the cast when it returns in 2020 - confirmed earlier this week that filming is expected to commence in April 2019.

The ranch, which until Friday resembled a town straight out of a Western, was originally developed in 1927, when Paramount Pictures purchased the lot in the old Rancho Las Virgenes and used it for various films, including "The Maid of Salem" (1937) and "The Adventures of Marco Polo" (1938). She said she landed back home, spent one hour packing and evacuated shortly afterward.
