Fast forward to today, Scott (now age 10) is cancer-free after being in remission for the past several years!

It's been five years since Miles Scott saved San Francisco as the legendary superhero Batkid, and now the Make-A-Wish Foundation has an update on his condition. The Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area foundation turned the city into Gotham City for Miles by creating a day-long event bringing his wish to be BatKid to life.

On this day, Miles Scott, a then 5-year-old with leukemia, had his wish granted by Make-A-Wish to become "Batkid".

Miles' adventure, in which an actor dressed as Batman drove him around San Francisco encountering multiple scenes and villains, was organized by the Make-A-Wish foundation and culimated in a crowd of 10,000 people cheering him on.

Since he was 1, Miles wrestled with leukemia.

Miles now lives in North Carolina and loves science and robotics, according to the foundation.

"Miles has returned to being a typical kid - playing little league, going to school, helping his family farm, and even selling his first market goat in the local fair", the foundation said via a statement.

The event was a celebration to mark Miles's last round of medication after having battled through three years of cancer treatment.

The event, for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, involved more than 2000 people.

As Batkid ate his lunch, he got a message from the police chief alerting him the villainous Penguin was kidnapping famous San Francisco Giants mascot Lou Seal and Batkid rushed to the rescue.
