Just two months after the official return of Withings, the French digital health company today announced Pulse HR, a new addition to their range of health and fitness trackers that features heart rate monitoring, multisport features and connected Global Positioning System capabilities. One arez where the Pulse HR might stand out from the competition is in battery life - Withings says a full charge can last up to 20 days with normal usage and 5 days in Workout Mode.

Pulse HR's OLED display shows information such as the time, heart rate and notifications from your smartphone. This includes swimming as the band is rated at 5ATM.

As its name suggests, the Pulse HR sports a heart-rate monitor similar to its Pulse predecessors, but there are other notable differentiators this time around. However, users also have to option to manually select what type of workout they want to track. Not only did it launch the Steel HR Sport hybrid smartwatch in September, it has now unveiled an updated version of its very first activity tracker from 2013, the Pulse. That heart rate feature also gives users a breakdown of their workout session, showing how their heart rate fluctuated from workout to workout. You'll also be able to use the Pulse HR to track around 30 different activities including yoga and hockey. Once paired with a smartphone, users can track their pace, distance, elevation and map their workouts during activities like walking, running, hiking or cycling. Pulse HR comes with a 110mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is good for up to 20 days between charges. It also functions as a sleep tracker, studying patterns and offering up analysis of your sleep behavior, like length and quality of sleep. This gadget is a wearable fitness tracker that comes with a new design when compared to the previous Pules HR model.

Pulse HR has capabilities such as Smart Wake-up that will wake users with vibration alarms at the most optimal times during their sleep cycle.

The Pulse HR is available for pre-order on Withings' website for $130 Dollars (approximately $172 CAD) and will launch on December 5th. Starting January 2019, additional wristband colour options will be available.

Not much is said for the minimalistic monochrome display, but it does the job of basic information conveyance - more details and charts on fitness, health and sleep metrics can be seen on the complementary Health Mate app.
