Eventually President Trump separated out Chris Wallace and, presumably, Fox News, as not being part of the "enemy" fake news. "Nobody believes in the First Amendment more than I do" he claimed, and attempted to clarify that he did not believe all media is the "enemy", but only outlets which he considers "fake news".

In an interview that aired Sunday, Trump told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace he had arrived back in Washington the night of November 10 from a trip to France for meetings with world leaders marking the centennial of the armistice that ended World War I on November 11, 1918.

President Donald Trump on Sunday defended his decision not to go to Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans Day by explaining that he had "a lot" of telephone calls to make.

"I should have done that", Trump told Wallace.

Trump said Obama had offered him some important guidance in the White House shortly after his 2016 election. "I went down to Florida".

Responding to a question in a wide-ranging interview the US President said, "We are doing really well".

"I think North Korea's been very tough because you know we were very close. We did a lot of calling, as you know".

He also touted his campaigning for Republican candidates in key races, and said that until he "put a spotlight" on the Senate race in Florida, Republican Rick Scott would have lost the election. "On top of which - we've just been very busy but I will be doing that". They would have taken that election away from him.

"I can't talk for other people, I can only talk for me", Trump replied.

"I should have done that", Trump said.

He said Mr. Trump has been attentive to Gold Star families who've lost relatives in battle and lobbied for higher pay and better funding for the military. "I was extremely busy on the calls for the country".

"I think we've wasted enough time on this witch hunt and the answer is probably, we're finished".
