Although he's just as bummed as the rest of us, he did leave the door open for a possible return to the role in the future. After a week of silence, he's finally come out and said his piece. He said, "A lot of us really expected to keep going, and I certainly did". "The truth is, I felt like we had a lot of stories to tell, and although I understand [the decision to cancel the series], I'm very saddened by that".

When pressed for details on a potential Daredevil Season 4, Cox refused to elaborate for good reason.

We're massive fans of the third Season because the show really found its verve with some fantastic action, fights, and performances. "But also, these characters mean a lot to people".

Ever since the very first episode, Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock really captured what made the comic books so beloved. "That's a weird feeling, because that character has been such a huge part of my life for the last four and a half years".

The shock of the sudden cancellation of Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix has left a lot of viewers confused, particularly after that terrific last season. In fact, according to EW, writers had already begun laying the groundwork for Daredevil's next adventure; ideas that Cox was excited explore.

Still, Cox admits he would want to play the character again.

"I hate to be boring, but to be honest, I don't think I should answer that", Cox replied. "It's so new, the news. Anything I say often gets picked up and circulated, and I just want to make sure I don't give any false hope".

He embodied the Man Without Fear, but Daredevil star Charlie Cox is now the Man Without a Series - and he's not too happy about it.

But there's no mention of this iteration of the character, and "future projects" for Marvel could literally mean anything.

The series' abrupt end caught Cox by surprise.

"Oh my God, yeah", he said. "I don't know how this would happen, but maybe one day we could pick up the baton and do it again." .
