Apple Musics Connect feature being removed

Apple has reportedly been sending artists on Apple Music a notice saying they won't be able to post to Connect anymore.

Apple Music Connect will not be available anymore and that's why Apple is now pushing people towards "Personalized Artist Radio" stations and redesigned pages for musicians. As of today, artists can no longer post Connect content, and existing posts are no longer visible in the Music app or iTunes. In lieu of Connect, Apple said it is looking for new ways to help artists better connect to their fans.

The "Connect" feature was introduced alongside Apple Music in 2015. However, the feature failed to gain momentum. Tim Cook's company consequently deemphasized Connect's presence on the streaming platform by moving it from its dedicated tab to a more generic recommendation location within the app, as per Variety.

In a blog post yesterday, the company revealed that "Connect posts from artists are no longer supported". Most haven't updated their feed since the feature debuted. This also explains why the feature hasn't been developed much since then. In other words, Apple Music was meant to be a one-stop shop for fans to find all they need about their favorite artists.

According to a note the service made to artists overnight, "we've made a few changes to Apple Music that we'd like to tell you about".

Apple has removed Connect from its Apple Music streaming service.
