He also took the opportunity to distance himself from the comments made by Pandya and Rahul.

Following sexist views by Pandya and Rahul, on Thursday, a 2-ODI ban for Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul was recommended by Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has told the team management that the duo will not play in at least the first of three one-day internationals in Sydney on Saturday while a full inquiry is launched.

Hardik Pandya is likely to miss out from the team.

The cricketers boasted about hooking up with multiple women and Pandya's comments were misogynistic to the next level.

The first ODI between India and Australia will take place on 12 January, 2019.

The development has left Rahul and Pandya facing suspension.

MS Dhoni comes back in with the gloves while the all-rounder duties will be handed to Ravindra Jadeja who has been in good form of late, and everything points towards a high-scoring game here so Rohit Sharm and Virat Kohli will be keen to continue their strong form in this format.

"We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers do not support such views", Kohli said ahead of the first ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

"Based on the legal opinion and till the time the final procedure is laid down to address this issue, will recommend that a communication be sent to the concerned players and the team immediately", Edulji said in response to the legal team's email on Friday morning, which has been accessed by ESPNcricinfo.

The BCCI have asked Pandya and KL Rahul - who was also part of the show - to explain their comments, with Pandya apologising on social media soon after.

"Definitely it has to hit anyone hard, they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right".

"We, definitely, as the Indian cricket team do not support views like that and that has been communicated".

Hardik has since issued a statement on Twitter, where he said, "After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way". "Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments".
