Earlier this week, sources told ESPN FC that Chelsea were prepared to report Bayern to Federation Internationale de Football Association if evidence of an illegal approach to Hudson-Odoi or his representatives was found, having been angered by the club's public pursuit of the academy graduate.

But after the match Antonio Rudiger revealed that Hudson-Odoi has asked him about his experiences in German football, and Bayern are increasingly confident that they will be able to complete a deal for the 18-year-old this month.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said on Wednesday that the 18-year-old has the qualities his side want amid reports of repeated bids for the winger.

Bayern are reported to have tabled three bids for the prospect, who is apparently eager to leave the club in search of greater first-team exposure having appeared just once in the Premier League this term. "I spoke with the club and the club knows very well my opinion", he said.

'Now he needs to improve in some movements without the ball but he is working very well at the moment so I am very happy with the player and would like to have him in the future'. "My opinion is important for the club, but I can not tell you my opinion".

The Blues are now being linked with a host of potential reinforcements this month as Maurizio Sarri considers bolstering his squad ahead of the second half of the season. "But I don't need an important player like Cesc unhappy here".

Away from transfer matters, Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday when they face Newcastle at Stamford Bridge.

"Of course if he was to go to another club then we need a replacement", he said.

"But I don't know anything about the market day by day or minute by minute".

"I find it staggering that Chelsea are considering selling him to Bayern Munich", Keown told MailOnline.
