James originally suffered the injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors.

So with James likely out, Kuzma could be the Lakers' go-to guy as he was Wednesday when he became the fifth player in the National Basketball Association this year to score more than 40 points through three quarters, as he sat out the final quarter of the blowout victory.

LeBron James remains sidelined with a groin injury and will be re-evaluated on Friday, said Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton.

As you can see in the tweet below from former Salt Lake Tribune writer Kyle Goon, due to the fact that LeBron's medical re-evaluation will take place on the same day as the Jazz game, he won't even be travelling with the team to Utah. The Lakers are allowing just 41.4 percent shooting in their last five games and giving up 106.2 points, which is a massive improvement over their season numbers.

But after some extra work the day before, Kuzma came out on fire Wednesday night, sinking 16 of 24 from the field, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range.

"I think I found my jump shot", Kuzma said after the game. His scoring average is 18.8 ppg up from 16.1 in 2017-18. Only the 30-year-old McGee is a veteran, with 10 years of experience. But, he has missed the Lakers' last seven games.

The perennial All-Star and 4-time league MVP is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists in his first season with Los Angeles.

The under has been a very popular trend not only when these teams meet, but in their games overall this season. Until then, the Jazz will simply have to hope that they can weather their own injury storm and come away with a few key victories over beatable teams in the coming days, including against LA, as they aim to surge up the standings and get back in the playoff mix.
