Gary Kubiak will not serve as the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator this season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

"None of the assistant coaching positions have been determined yet, and until things are ironed out and ironclad, I prefer not to comment on that", Fangio said Thursday afternoon.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the Broncos want a "new age, innovative" coordinator for the offense and Kubiak wasn't quite on board.

Kubiak had planned to bring his own offensive line coach with him.

Since then, Kubiak has worked as a senior personnel adviser for the Broncos. Earlier this hiring season, the Broncos prohibited the Falcons and Bengals from speaking with Kubiak about their offensive coordinator openings, according to Schefter.

"After lengthy discussions, Denver and Kubiak had different ideas on staffing and offensive philosophies". According to National Football League reporter Ian Rapoport, the Broncos are once again planning to speak to Munchak even though they passed on him as their new head coach.

The Broncos have been talking to Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak about coming to the team and having the same role. Munchak finished as the runner-up to Fangio for the head-coaching job.
