Modi's last meeting with the film fraternity in December had drawn criticism for not including any female personality. While the Padmaavat actor was always confirmed to play the lead, Ranbir wasn't interested in playing a supporting role. In the caption, he mentioned the meeting was a great opportunity.

In another post Johar wrote, "Powerful and timely conversations can bring about change and this was one of what we hope will become a regular conversation". Plus, the fact that Alia Bhatt wore this ethereal suit for a meeting with the Prime Minister, makes this look all the more special.

Reportedly, the meeting was organised by Karan Johar and Mahavir Jain, to discuss the young talent of the entertainment industry about their participation and contribution towards nation-building.

It's no surprise that Prime Minister Narendra Modi (C) remained the most searched newsmaker in India, and Radhul Gandhi (L) followed him at No.2.The former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra made it to No. 3, thanks to his landmark verdicts on Triple Talaq and Article 377. There is so much that we want to do. Together we would love to inspire and ignite positive changes to a transformative India. And can do and this dialogue was towards how and what ways we can do that. Besides Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, and Rohit Shetty also presented the film industry. "Thank you so much for your time, Sir!". Many of them also asked why the Indian filmstars lacked spine to criticise the government like their counterparts in Hollywood routinely did.
