According to Simon Mullock of The MirrorManchester United skipper Antonio Valencia may be on his way out of the Old Trafford once, the season ends, after his contract with the Red Devils expires in the summer.

He was shifted to a right-back position subsequently and had cemented his position at the club, but found himself out of favor with the now sacked Jose Mourinho this season.

The reports claims that Inter Milan are interested in signing the 33-year-old, and Valencia's advisors have already opened talks with the Italian side who are keen to land the player this month.

As well as a new manager it's pretty likely that the playing staff will change. The new man in charge will have players in mind to sign more more importantly might be the players who leave.

Inter Milan are now the front runners to sign the Ecuador global in the summer.

Valencia has been at Old Trafford since moving from Wigan in the summer of 2009 and is now the club captain but has only played eight times in all competitions this season.

Valencia has only started in 5 league fixtures this season, but he still remains important for Manchester United who will be left with inexperienced backups at the position if he leaves the club in the next transfer window.

As for where the captain's armband goes in the event of Valencia's departure, the most likely scenario is that Ashley Young is made club captain but Paul Pogba wears it most weeks, with Young not necessarily an automatic starter.

It's been almost a decade of Valencia being a mainstay at Old Trafford but it looks like the end for him.
