Browns reportedly hire Todd Monken as OC, Steve Wilks as DC

The newly-hired Cleveland Browns head coach hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken for the same position on Sunday, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Wilks, who was sacked December 31 after just one season at the Cards helm, will be the new defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

The 52-year-old had been Tampa Bay's offensive coordinator since 2016 after he was Southern Miss" head coach from 2013 to "15.

Although Wilks was 3-13 in his first and only year as head coach with Arizona in 2018, he established himself in Carolina as their defensive coordinator in 2017 and a defensive backs coach prior to that.

The Browns are expected to make the hires official on Monday, ahead of Kitchens' introductory press conference.

The 49-year-old Wilks served as defensive backs coach and later as defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers before being hired by the Cardinals for his first National Football League head-coaching job. Their running game, though, was ranked 29th.
